PriceFetchWP requires a WordPress hosting environment capable of making secure outbound connections to external websites.
Requirements:
- WordPress 6.7 or newer
- PHP 8.0 or newer
- HTTPS support
- PHP cURL support
- PHP DOM/XML support
- PHP JSON support
- Outbound HTTPS connections allowed by your hosting provider
- A modern SSL/TLS library with TLS 1.2 or newer
SSL / OpenSSL
For servers using OpenSSL, OpenSSL 3.x or newer is recommended, with OpenSSL 3.5 LTS or newer preferred.
Older SSL libraries may work with some websites but fail to connect to others with newer TLS requirements.
You can check the SSL library used by PHP in:
WordPress → Tools → Site Health → Info → Server
Look for the cURL version and its reported SSL/OpenSSL version.
WooCommerce
WooCommerce is optional.
If you use PriceFetchWP’s WooCommerce integration, your site must also meet the requirements of your installed WooCommerce version. See WooCommerce requirements.
Proxy Providers
Using proxy services is optional. We’ve built in a few to easily toggle on and off when you need them.
A proxy provider may help retrieve websites that block direct requests, require browser rendering, or cannot establish a compatible TLS connection with your server.
Important
Meeting these requirements does not guarantee that every external website can be fetched directly. Retailers may use anti-bot protection, JavaScript rendering, or other technologies that require additional configuration or a proxy provider.
