# Importing & Exporting Settings

PriceFetchWP includes an **Import/Export** tool for backing up URL Entries or moving them between WordPress sites.

## Export URL Entries

Go to:

**WordPress Dashboard → PriceFetchWP → Import/Export**

Click **Export Entries**.

PriceFetchWP will download a JSON file containing your URL Entry configurations.

## What Gets Exported?

The export includes URL Entry information such as:

- Domain
- Sale and Regular Price selectors
- XPath, ID, Class, Script selector types
- **Also check** fallback selectors
- Reverse Price Logic
- Paused/active state
- Per-entry Advanced Options

This allows most of a URL Entry's configuration to be transferred without rebuilding it manually.

## What Is Not Exported?

Site-wide or sensitive settings are not included.

Examples include:

- PriceFetchWP license information
- Amazon or eBay credentials
- PhantomJSCloud or ScrapFly API keys
- Global Page/Post or WooCommerce settings
- Global cache settings
- Logs and cached prices

If an imported URL Entry uses an affiliate API or proxy service, the required credentials must already be configured on the destination site.

## Import URL Entries

To import a previous PriceFetchWP export:

1. Open **PriceFetchWP → Import/Export**.
2. Click **Import Entries**.
3. Select the PriceFetchWP JSON file.
4. Review the imported entries.
5. Save your PriceFetchWP settings.

Imported entries are **added to your existing URL Entries**. They do not automatically replace or remove entries already on the site.

For this reason, check for duplicate domains before saving.

## Test After Importing

We recommend using **Test Entry** on several imported configurations.

Confirm that:

- The external page can be fetched
- The correct selector matches
- The expected price is found
- Any proxy or affiliate configuration works correctly

Different WordPress servers can sometimes receive different responses from the same external website, so a quick test is recommended after moving configurations.

## Moving From Staging to Production

A common workflow is:

1. Configure and test URL Entries on staging.
2. Export the entries.
3. Import them on the production site.
4. Configure any required API or proxy credentials.
5. Review and save the entries.
6. Run **Test Entry** on a few important products.

## Older Export Files

PriceFetchWP can also import older export files.

Older versions may not contain newer settings such as ID or Class selector types. When selector-type information is missing, PriceFetchWP treats the selector as XPath.

Always review and test older imported configurations before using them.

## Quick Checklist

- Export your URL Entries.
- Import the JSON file on the destination site.
- Check for duplicate domains.
- Review selectors and Advanced Options.
- Configure any required API or proxy credentials.
- Save the settings.
- Run **Test Entry** on several product URLs.

Import/Export makes it easy to move PriceFetchWP URL Entry configurations between sites without setting everything up again manually.
