# cURL Timeout

The **cURL Timeout** determines how long PriceFetchWP should allow an applicable direct website request to continue before treating it as timed out.

A longer timeout may help slow external sites but can also cause a request to take longer before failing. In our testing, a cURL timeout of 7 seconds is the best option.
