# Affiliate Integration

PriceFetchWP supports affiliate API integrations as an alternative way to retrieve external product prices.

Instead of fetching the external webpage and searching for a price using an XPath, ID, Class, or Script selector, PriceFetchWP can retrieve pricing directly from a supported affiliate provider’s API.

Affiliate credentials are configured globally and then Affiliate mode is enabled individually for the URL Entry that should use that provider.

## – How Affiliate Integration Works

When Affiliate mode is enabled, the provider’s API becomes the price source:

```
Your WordPress Instance
        ↓
Affiliate API
        ↓
Product Price
```

Because the price comes from the Affiliate API, you do not need to configure normal price selectors for that URL Entry.

PriceFetchWP handles the API price retrieval automatically.

---

## – Supported Affiliate Integrations

PriceFetchWP currently includes support for:

- **Amazon Creators API**
- **eBay Partner Network API**

Additional affiliate integrations may be added in future updates.

Each provider has its own account, API credential, eligibility, and usage requirements.

---

## – Configure an Affiliate Provider

Go to:

**PriceFetchWP → Affiliate Integration**

Choose the provider you want to configure.

Affiliate credentials are configured globally.

Once the required credentials for a provider have been saved, PriceFetchWP will mark that provider as:

**Configured**

If the required information has not been entered, the provider will display:

**Not configured**

There is no separate global Enable checkbox.

A configured provider simply becomes available for use within the **[Advanced Options](https://pricefetchwp.com/documentation/advanced-options/)** of a URL Entry.

The provider is not actually used for price requests until you enable **Use affiliate** on a URL Entry and select that provider.

Click **Quick Save** after entering or changing your credentials.

Provider availability will update immediately after the settings are saved.

---

## – Amazon Creators API

To configure Amazon, enter the required Amazon Creators API information:

- Client ID / Access Key
- Client Secret / Secret Key
- Partner Tag
- Credential Version
- Marketplace

The **Credential Version** should match the version assigned to your Amazon Creators API credentials.

Select the Marketplace associated with your Amazon account and product requests.

After saving the required credentials, Amazon will display: **Configured**

and become available as an Affiliate provider within your URL Entry Advanced Options.

**Note:** Saved secret keys are masked in the PriceFetchWP settings. You do not need to re-enter the secret unless you want to replace it.

---

## – eBay Partner Network

To configure eBay, enter the available account information:

- App ID (Client ID)
- Client Secret
- Campaign ID
- Custom ID (optional)

The App ID and Client Secret are required for PriceFetchWP to connect to the eBay API.

Campaign ID and Custom ID can be used with your eBay Partner Network configuration where applicable.

After saving the required credentials, eBay will display: **Configured**

and become available as an Affiliate provider within your URL Entry Advanced Options.

**Note:** Saved client secrets are masked in the PriceFetchWP settings. You do not need to re-enter the secret unless you want to replace it.

---

## – Enable Affiliate Mode for a URL Entry

Configuring an Affiliate provider does not automatically use that provider for price fetching.

Affiliate mode is enabled **per URL Entry**.

Open the URL Entry you want to configure and select: **[Advanced Options](https://pricefetchwp.com/documentation/advanced-options/)**

Enable: **Use affiliate**

Then select the available provider.

For example:

```
Use affiliate: ON
Provider: Amazon
```

or:

```
Use affiliate: ON
Provider: eBay
```

Once active, the URL Entry will display an **Affiliate** indicator beside the entry number.

PriceFetchWP will also lock the appropriate Affiliate domain and disable settings that do not apply to Affiliate API fetching.

You can still configure applicable settings such as the Price Cache timing for the entry.

Save your URL Entries after making the change.

---

## – What Changes When Affiliate Mode Is Active?

When Affiliate mode is active, PriceFetchWP uses the selected Affiliate API as the price source.

Because normal webpage selectors are no longer required, PriceFetchWP disables the selector-related controls for that entry.

This includes:

- Sale Price Selector
- Regular Price Selector
- Selector Type
- Also check selectors
- Reverse order controls

PriceFetchWP also locks the applicable Affiliate domain for the entry.

This prevents normal selector configuration from being mixed with an Affiliate API configuration.

---

## – Affiliate Provider Assignment

Each Affiliate provider can only be assigned to **one URL Entry at a time**.

For example, if Amazon is already being used by Entry 1, another URL Entry cannot also select Amazon.

The provider dropdown may display something similar to:

```
Amazon — in use (Entry 1)
```

The provider will become available again if Affiliate mode is disabled on that entry, the provider is changed, or the URL Entry is removed.

You generally only need one Affiliate URL Entry for each provider because that entry handles matching product URLs for the provider’s supported domain.

---

## – Affiliate and Proxy Modes Cannot Be Used Together

An Affiliate API and a Proxy provider cannot be active on the same URL Entry.

Affiliate mode retrieves the price through the selected provider’s API, so a proxy fetch is not needed for that entry.

PriceFetchWP treats these as separate fetch methods:

```
Direct / Selector Fetch
```

```
Proxy Fetch
```

```
Affiliate API
```

If Affiliate mode is enabled, Proxy mode is disabled for that URL Entry.

---

## – Product URLs Are Still Required

Affiliate mode still needs the original external product URL so PriceFetchWP can identify the product being requested.

For example:

- Amazon product URLs contain an **ASIN**
- eBay product URLs contain an **item ID**

PriceFetchWP uses information from the product URL to determine which item should be requested from the Affiliate API.

Use a normal product-page URL that clearly identifies the product.

---

## – WooCommerce Affiliate Products

Affiliate Integration works alongside PriceFetchWP’s WooCommerce External/Affiliate product workflow.

Your WooCommerce **Product URL** can continue to contain the affiliate or tracked destination URL you want customers to visit.

The PriceFetchWP custom field should contain the original external product-page URL used to identify and retrieve the product price.

For example:

```
WooCommerce Product URL
→ Your affiliate/tracked product link
PriceFetchWP custom field
→ Original product page URL
```

Using the default PriceFetchWP WooCommerce configuration, the custom field name is:

```
external_price_fetch
```

This keeps the URL used for price retrieval separate from the destination link used by the WooCommerce product.

See: **[WooCommerce Settings](https://pricefetchwp.com/documentation/woocommerce-settings/)** for the complete WooCommerce configuration.

---

## – Test an Affiliate Entry

After enabling Affiliate mode, use: **[Test Entry](https://pricefetchwp.com/documentation/test-entry/)**

Enter the exact Amazon or eBay product URL you want to test.

The Test Entry result will identify the Affiliate API as the price source rather than a normal Direct Fetch or Proxy Fetch.

PriceFetchWP will attempt to identify the product from the URL and request the current pricing information from the selected provider.

Normal XPath, ID, Class, or Script selectors are not tested when Affiliate mode is active.

If successful, Test Entry will display the price returned by the Affiliate provider.

If the API returns an error, Test Entry and PriceFetchWP logging can provide additional information about the request.

## ⚠️ Common Issues

### Affiliate provider is not available in Advanced Options

Check the provider under: **[Affiliate Integration](https://pricefetchwp.com/documentation/affiliate-integration/)**

Make sure:

- The required API credentials have been entered
- The provider displays **Configured**
- Your Affiliate Integration settings were saved

Also check whether the provider is already assigned to another URL Entry.

If so, the provider may display something similar to:

```
Amazon — in use (Entry 1)
```

Each Affiliate provider can only be assigned to one URL Entry at a time.

### Provider shows Not configured

PriceFetchWP has not detected all of the required credentials for that provider.

Review the provider settings and enter the missing required information.

Click: **Quick Save**

The provider status should change to **Configured** once the required configuration is available.

### Test Entry cannot identify the product

Check that you are using a normal product URL containing a recognizable product identifier.

For example:

- Amazon requires a URL containing a valid ASIN
- eBay requires a URL containing a recognizable item ID

Shortened, redirected, or unusual URLs may not always contain enough information to identify the product.

### API credentials were changed

After changing Affiliate credentials, click: **Quick Save**

Then run: **[Test Entry](https://pricefetchwp.com/documentation/test-entry/)** again.

### The API does not return a price

Affiliate APIs control what product and offer information is available to PriceFetchWP.

A product may occasionally have:

- No qualifying offer
- No usable price
- Restricted product information
- An API/account eligibility issue

PriceFetchWP cannot control the availability of third-party Affiliate API data.

If the request fails, check the Test Entry result and PriceFetchWP logs for additional information.

### Can I use a proxy with Affiliate mode?

No. Affiliate and Proxy modes are mutually exclusive for the same URL Entry.

If you want to fetch the product webpage through a proxy instead, disable **Use affiliate** and configure the URL Entry for normal selector-based fetching.

### Can I create multiple Amazon or eBay Affiliate entries?

Each Affiliate provider can only be assigned to one URL Entry at a time.

If Amazon is already assigned to one entry, Amazon will be unavailable for selection in another entry until the existing assignment is removed.

The same applies to eBay.

---

## – Affiliate API Availability

Affiliate services are operated by third parties and have their own:

- Account requirements
- Approval and eligibility requirements
- API credentials
- Usage limits
- Policies
- Product-data availability

PriceFetchWP provides the integration, but does not control Affiliate account eligibility or the data returned by the provider.

You should maintain an active account with the Affiliate provider and follow its current API and Affiliate-program requirements.
